Unfortunately, It doesn't make much sense.
The Revs have attacked Marijoa super recently (in OP's terms), have already destroyed the CD's symbol and burned their food supply. It has already been said that the CDs are left with little to eat.
More so, we know the plan of the Revs is to attack the supply ships that are going to Marijoa, in orders to cut the supply lines:
Why they would have to attack again when they already had and their literal plan is to starve Marijoa without attacking it directly?
I mean, It was literally their plan to not attack directly (again).
And if Dragon Is not there, no Akainu.
I mean, at this point Akainu going alone at Marijoa after VP's message would make more sense, if anything.
