If Mihawk and Circus Guild got offscreened by Blackbeard Pirates, defeating Vista is enough proof that Zoro already surpassed Mihawk. He finished what his timeskip mentor couldn't finish. Thought? @Kōri no kokyū
I dont know if this is a hot take but I think Oda kinda fumbled the Gunko/Brook thing.

Brook and Laboon is one of the best things in the manga. Them being reunited is what A LOT of fans do wanna see because we do know Laboon and the sad story.
With Gunko though? Never been alluded before, literally WHO. Unless this is somehow his Captain that got gender swapped, I can't find myself to care about who she is and how she connects to Brook. 😔

No everything requires build up. Some things are left open on purpose. And some things are even possibly retconned, like the Brook and Laboon connection.

I think you need to define what losing means in this context.
Zoro is the ultimate offense, and Sanji is the ultimate defense.
By EOS, I don't expect Sanji to be strong enough to defeat every other top tier character. BUT, I do expect his defense to become hax enough where, while he can't K.O. others, others can't actually damage him either. Sanji will become even haxer than the Lunarians.
