So anyway I watched the film Sicario (2015) this weekend, and I swear I have been thinking about this movie constantly ever since. In my opinion the most underrated movie I have ever seen in my life.

I typically don’t enjoy generic “police vs cartel” movies or whatever, there are like 50,000 of these movies and they all just blend together in my mind, but holy shit Sicario was just on a level of its own, I have obsessed about it for 4 days.

The film starts with the FBI raiding a drug house in Arizona, they successfully raid the house but they find human corpses in the walls and a huge bomb detonated in the back yard etc…this is all on American soil and the incident makes national news and all that.

The main character is like some new FBI hot shot captain or whatever, and she is immediately determined to bring the men responsible for this atrocity to justice.

We find out that this drug house belongs to the Cartel and the FBI chick immediately gets recruited to this task force that’s going to go after the Cartel. As the film goes on, FBI chick discovers that she has actually been recruited by the CIA without knowing it for them to go after the Cartel.

Anyway, the whole movie is about FBI chick finding out that she is actually completely powerless to bring about any change in this battle, and she discovers that the people working for the CIA are just as monstrous and evil as the Cartel themselves, they torture, they employ Cartel hitmen, etc... We also find out that the only reason the CIA wanted her was because it is illegal for the CIA to operate on U.S. soil unless they are “working with” the FBI and they actually didn’t care about her at all and just wanted an FBI teammate so they didn’t get in legal trouble etc. We also find out that the CIA themselves were the ones who taught the Cartel all of the brutal guerilla warfare shit they do, etc…

The whole film is about this chick just realizing that she doesn’t have or want what it takes to make a difference in such a dark war fought by evil people, and the whole thing is just so brilliant.

The thesis of this post is that One Piece is trash and nobody gives a fuck about this shitty ass manga, have any of the rest of you seen the Film Sicario and if so what did you think?

@Blackbeard @Fujishiro @MarineHQ @EmperorKinyagi
I saw it when I was young but I remember being shook when he kills the cartel guy’s family

yeah it seems some flame takes over him when transitioning

he goes from horse to human again and there's more flames
Those wisps are different tho, the wisps we see in this panel come from the horse head as it becomes human. Not to mention the wisps that he get while transforming are the same as the ones that make up his cloak

These flames look nothing like them

Head to horse probably looks different to horse to head, we’ve only seen 1 example of each

Holy fuck. Sadly not as implausible as it should be either.

Family scene stuck in my head for years

Elder Lee Hung

Conqueror of the Stars
I heard of it, I I should probably watch it. It stars benicion del torro right?
Yes yes, absolutely yes. I had never seen a Benicio Del Toro movie before Sicario, but holy fuck was this guy just oozing aura. He barely said a goddamn word the entire movie but he absolutely perfected the aura of cartel hitman.

I watched a video essay about how his character was actually the main character of this movie, but how the film hides this from us at first in order to make us think that Emily Blunt is the main character. This was done with a purpose, by making us think Emily Blunt is the main character, the overall message of the film hits much harder because when you realize that she never had the power to bring about real change in this war, you realize she was never the main character at all. And it’s then that we realize that Del Toro is on a revenge mission to avenge his wife and daughter that the cartel brutally killed right in front of him.

I have never seen a story subvert my expectations in such a satisfying way, I have never seen a story literally hide its own main character for the purposes of convincing me that someone I thought was the main character was not the main character, all for the purposes of reiterating just how powerless Emily Blunt’s own character actually was.

Seriously I am still gushing hopelessly over this movie man.

We've come from YC levels stopping attacks from top tiers to getting one-shotted left and right.

Why the heck Broggy and Dory got turned just like that? Why these two legendary warrior seem to not possess haki when Chinjao has COC lol.
