Is there any reason why Sanji is fighting Brogy and not Dorry for the vast majority? I voted for Brogy just because he has already been wounded by Imu
Am I missing something?

Talking about looking, Dorry is "cooler", so it's more likely Zoro's opponent.
Sanji's opponents are usually goofier.
Plus, Dorry uses a big ass sword, while Brogy an axe.
But it can be also a 2 vs 2, so the specific opponent doesn't matter.

Idk which one of you mentioned this, but these gradual Imu and Holy Knights reveals really put into perspective how poorly handled the whole Nika fruit ordeal was (in and out of story)

You have people that can teleport to and from places, yet you transfer the most sought after fruit via ship.

You have multiple top level secret goons at your disposal, yet you use a CP9 agent as the strongest guard for the fruit.

I feel like the answer will be the usual "fate/the fruit has a will of its own" spiel. And ok, I get it, it's become a cliche by now.

Broggy is more emotional too I guess. He was crying, horrified and devastated when he thought he killed Dorry accidentally and unfairly or whatever. And we had Sanji wanting Zoro to kill him too, ironically.

Imu’s ability is a bit too brutal
Fact that he can force someone to become his slave irregardless of their free will & also drain said victim’s lifespan to power them up is way too broken. Normally there’s usually some sort of restriction on the oppressor but fact that he can do all this with no drawback is insane.

Plus Dorry & Broggy aren’t exactly weak willed. To give a bit of context, Dorry & Broggy prolly don’t pass out from Shanks CoC blast, maybe even Joyboy’s but even then they were still victims to Imu’s ability

I have to assume that they did agree to the terms subconsciously. Brogy just got absolutely massacred and his homes in danger, I feel like someone offering him power for a “short amount of life span”, which for a giant means nothing, is just a good deal to him and in his heart he wanted that power that was offered.

Otherwise forcing people into servitude is too much. Even Big Mom needed people to feel fear. Maybe Imu needs them to lust for power

I've been a firm oponent of the inclusion of Nika and any other subsequent god fruits in the story. Give me a plucky rubber underdog that lucks his way through fights from time to time any day over what we have.

But beggars can't be choosers. The only hope I have left is that, no matter how much positivity Nika brings in his fights, Luffy actually becomes the serious ass kicker of old and steamrolls Imu like he did vs Croc in the tomb for example. Just pure no nonsense testosterone ass kicking.

Let’s admit it Oda never planned manga would run for 20+ years he probably had 4 yonkos + crocodile as nemesis going by early template I still think Oda planned BB as final villain so I still trust Luffy will have proper pirate fight against Blackbeard this is why I still think Imu will be killed before final war which will help Blackbeard pirates .

Completely agree man. I really loved Luffys resourcefulness, creativity and that classic sheer underdog, endless tenacity from Shonen protagonists before the inevitable chosen one reveal, prophecies, 5 million power ups, retcons, more plot armour than Erzas entire collection ironically etc.

And yet some people slandered the resin logia idea lmao. Oda even clearly planned it with Katakuri being a logia initially and Brazil having rubber trees. RIP.

Oda said Luffy would need something more than a bigger punch to beat Kaido LMAO.

I like the idea of Imu having to make feel people feel powerless and make them yearn for more power (even if subconciously) before being able to pass his "devil contract". That could be the reason why he first attacked Broggy before controlling them
