Mihawk not teaching or telling Zoro CoC doesn't mean anything. He was not there to teach Zoro every single thing there is for him to learn. He didn't teach him how to create a black blade.

Rayleigh taught Luffy CoA haki but not how to release or coat attacks with CoA haki.
