My mind says Imu and my heart says Blackbeard but I'm just not sure

Like on one hand we're learning all this about Blackbeard now so it feels like Oda's setting up the conflict early but in this same arc we have Imu wreaking havoc lol

Blackbeard being Xebec's kid explains his actions towards the Whitebeard pirates and especially Whitebeard and Ace all the more POWERFULLY and thus personally now too. This adds SO MUCH to his character it insane! In a way, the "Payback War" wasn't just for the WBP...but also for Blackbeard to avenge his father against Whitebeard, as Whitebeard mostly like betrayed Xebec at God's Valley.

Somehow Shanks must have realised Xebec exists through Blackbeard, even though he was only a baby when Xebec was last still alive ofc, but Roger must have told him stuff or some of the other Roger Pirates and the reason Blackbeard has been offscreen winning his fights is because the "real monster" inside him comes out, the one just like his father and shows his true savagery, competence and relentlessness, which Oda couldn't spoil yet I guess?

I still don’t really like BB being Rocks son after all the inherited will stuff Oda focused on for a large part of the series but is what it is

Completely agree, I love some Blackbeard upscale/agenda but making everyone children of top tiers/important characters like this is such lazy, cliché writing.

IMU has 800 years of rule but BB - he rivals Luffy....
