I don't think it would make sense for either character if he used a kid as a hostage, and Weevil would suddenly start caring about some random kid. It isn't even really in character for him to do that(Shanks even says, he wasn't fighting dirty, he was just fearing the next generation), but ngl, Gun to my head I would fold

No hostages or some shit like that. Could have however exploited a weakness. I can easily see him attacking Weevil's legs, which are explicitly said to be his weakspot, and thus restraining him.

I wouldn't confidently say Shanks either. Tbh, I'd likely say Mihawk, not that I don't have any doubts about the take's validity. There's always room to second guess opinions regardless of how solid they are. It just makes more logical sense to me.

1. Oda hasnt introduced another swordsman stronger than Mihawk… that’s kind of the point right? Mihawk is the “THE STRONGEST ONE”

2. At no point in the manga has it ever been implied a “swordsmanship feat” can make you WSS. You won’t find that panel so I won’t even ask for it
