Nah BB was always treated as super special. We knew this was coming. He was at the center of the War when he showed up, declaring himself as the strongest in the verse. His portrayal was always special among the top tiers, like a growing character, he's never static. Garp is a much better and hopeful example, he looked like Ray's water boy up until God Valley chapter.

Tbh, I totally get where my guy's coming from. I've got no complaints about his usual arguments which normally includes the way Shanks and Mihawk are treated.

My only problem is him trying to exceptions in swordsmen category so that peeps like Shanks can logically be above Mihawk without hurting his title. There's no dancing around Mihawk's title as far as I am concerned. Either he is the current strongest SM or his title is fraudulent.

So that swordsman was already stronger than Mihawk and just had to defeat him to prove it? So it’s possible to be stronger than Mihawk without his title if you haven’t defeated him.

Also Mihawk calls Yoru “the Strongest of its kind” in the manga

then the vivre cards say Yoru is the strongest sword in the world

We’ve barely seen Roger or Shanks fight.

Go look at their moveset in the games and compare it to Mohawk’s moveset. It’s very obvious why one is WSSM and the others aren’t.

Haki beams and guns aren’t swordsmanship. Roger and Shanks ARE swordsmen, but that just part of their skill set.
