Actually I was told that because we don't see the Marines telling Aramaki that they want the treasure there, that they didn't collect the treasure when Weevil was arrested, so they just invalidated the whole thing because reasons
Damn it man.. If only Oda spoonfed us every thing and we didn't have to use common sense to just assume they still collected the treasure once Weevil was out of the way. How frustrating.
They probably didn’t collect the treasure tho because Weevil is such a problem for Aramaki that agreeing to not go after the treasure in exchange for Weevil letting himself be arrested would be worth it

Why would a fodder Marine Captain know WB’s treasure is on Sphinx, but not an Admiral?
Because they heard a rumor about it? Admirals aren't cipher pol either way, why would they know this?

Why would Aramaki be able to threaten Weevil about a treasure that his mom doesn't even know the whereabouts of? She assumes Marco has it, implying a deal about the treasure wasn't made.

I haven't seen anyone commenting on the Davy Back Fights Xebec had to assemble his crew... MAN, THAT'S SURREAL TO THINK ABOUT.

Blackbeard applied this in Impeal Down, of course with a difference in the fight for survival: the strongest prevails. But it's very interesting to think that Xebec wasn't interested in anything other than STRENGTH.

SBS volume 38 chapter 361 page 86
ODA: There are several different accounts, but in general there was a lying, no-good pirate named Davy Jones, a greedy deck chief who was famous for putting all the crew's valuables in his own locker. He was so wicked, even for a pirate, that one day the Devil himself cursed Davy to live at the bottom of the sea forever, swabbing the deck of a sunken ship and placing all the sunken treasure into his locker, where it would never be seen again. So when pirates say "Put 'im in Davy Jones' locker!!" it means "sink 'im to the bottom o' the sea!!"

Yes, DAVY JONES EXISTS IN THE MANGA... now he has actually been canonized

Watching Xebec's development is fascinating. Oda has been building this character for years, always bringing a dark undertone. Imagine a guy who knows how to build characters—simply a genius.

WHAT A PERFECT TIME TO BE A ONE PIECE FAN!!
