Shanks isn't relevant here because Xebec is above him - probably the strongest ever. Just think about it, both GOATs, Roger and Xebec are swordsman - isn't that awesome for Zoro or Mihawk?

Well yeah majority of pirates are swordsman, heck most top tiers are. This is not news we knew Xebec used a sword for a while now. But notice how Oda purposefully shoved it down our throats this chapter with Xebec using every single fighting style, almost comically bad. It's like he reads this stuff and wanted to make sure it was clear Xebec is not bound by any single definition.

HACHINOSU is an island with several important minerals. Does Hachinosu have any clue as to where the Emerald City might be? Could Davy Jones have tracked down a map that leads to this Emerald City, and could the treasure they stole from Hachinosu and took to God Valley be this "map to the Emerald City" created by Davy Jones himself?

To be fair, Oda made sure to highlight he boxes, uses axes, uses guns. He's def an all rounder, even less boxed in than someone like Big Mom was. Only Shanks took the agenda L here if what Xebec was doing was called swordsmanship.

Shanks despite not being above Mihawk still holds immense narrative significance. Being called "child of destiny" speaks volume to it.
