Yep, I said it for quite some time, Imu never had the feeling of the final villain.
Something was missing and Blackbeard had a lead over Imu in nearly everything.
But even Blackbeard was questionable as FV due to some things.

If I had to put it into terms of Thriller Bark parallels...
...Imu is zombie Oars while Blackbeard is Moriah.
Davy Jones is Kuma the Tyrant.

In my latest thread I spoke about Luffy consuming the Eternal Flame in order to bypass the penalty of the sea.
