I don’t know about this.

His “bruises” are the sort of chicken scratch shadings that we are all too used to from modern Oda.

Rocks has a very busy face, design wise, that causes a lot of said chicken scratches. One side has the big long forelock, the other side has the scar/tattoo. He’s got the big eyes with the eyelashes and the wrinkles and the heavy brow. The nose, and then the beard and the lips.

It’s a lot, and the small panels Oda used don’t make it too clear to me exactly what’s happening on his face.

What is clear to me that Rocks is either unhurt, or so minimally hurt that it’s barely worth mentioning. Huff scaling is also terrible, it just shows he’s been running.

I’m still not sure if Rocks has demolished the Admiral in a fight, or if it’s something more shady. I still find the use of language around “murdered” to be a bit off. We see this chapter what he was willing to do to Loki to draw back Harald, and that he has no qualms with hostages. I find it easy to see a situation where he has hostages and uses that to manoeuvre his way to murdering the Admiral.

Would anyone put it past Rocks to do the whole “hands up or he gets it!” with a hostage, then to murder the guy sticking his hands up.
That'd kind of kill the hype behind Xebec a little and I don't think Oda wants to do that. I feel that he specifically had him kill an Admiral so that we understand just how powerful Xebec really is.
Not to mention, if his journey is a parallel to Teach's, then it makes sense if he killed the Admiral fairly since it'd be a mirror to Teach defeating Ace and using that to make him skyrocket in popularity and gain respect and cooperation from the level 6 pirates.

More FS flex incoming. :DeepThink:

The final saga will proceed as follows:

The plot will resolve the biggest battle first and then move towards the smallest ones.
The WG war is first on the menu, dethroning the Celestial Dragons and Imu.
Then we proceed to the main crew battle of the show - Strawhats vs Blackbeard Pirates.

Then we will focus on Davy Back Fight, a 3-round battle between triggers against the Cross Guild.
And finally, we will reach a solo battle against Final Villain who is very likely Davy Jones himself.

any guess on how Davy could still be alive? Maybe the Ope Ope surgery?

the thing is, this type of unhinged charas like xebec and bb will always got scratches no matter who theyre up against.. they could be fighting fuckass Caesar and best believe theyre gonna come out of that like it was a TUSSLE. They just cant help but let some good ass punches their way before serving a beatdown. That's part of their charms:Pepekainu:

I think if the purpose of killing the Admiral was to make us think for certain that Xebec was uber powerful, it would not be this offpanelled vagueness.

If he had showed Rocks standing over the defeated, dying Admiral, sword in hand, no hostage or anything in sight, barely a scratch, that would do the job without any real debate.

This? The clash with Harald is the real, undeniable powerscaling feat. But breaking into Imu’s room, destroying the gates of justice, winning Davy Back fights, stealing CD gold, and murdering an Admiral, I don’t think that is necessarily powerscaling. It is more personality scaling. We’re seeing why Rocks is this wildly audacious figure that challenged the world so much that his name was removed. But I don‘t think it’s necessarily needing to be viewed in a powerscaling lense.

The clash with Harald, Sengoku describing him as Roger’s greatest foe, his swordsmanship, Kaido’s five figures, that’s more powerscali g that character related.

Of course, they all combine and to be clear, it’s definite that Rocks was a PK level figure.

But this Admiral murder, I can’t help but think it’s pointing to another parallel with Teach- unsavoury, backstabbing behaviour. Blackbeard didn’t just beat Ace, he also murdered Thatch and Whitebeard in circumstances that really had little to do with powerscaling at all. Maybe that‘s the parallel we are meant to draw.

Swordsmanship could be anything. RIP to "pure skills only, no haki nor any other styles involved" fans
This happened a while ago - Shamrock sword "ate" Devil Fruit?!?!?!? - WTF that was.

So yeah, i guess we've already left "Earth" when it comes to the rules of this world's power system.

It's kind of funny because by the time we will find out what the deal is with the multi-fruit Blackbeard - the whole thing will be so warped that the only reaction will be - meh.

Who Owns the Client List?
Also the more confirmation we get about Rox’ crew, I’m convinced Thriller Bark was made up of a part of god valley. There’s just too many of Rox’ dead crew there.
I like this a lot.

I think Imu used Uranus against Rocks, and destroyed God Valley, but some chunks of it popping up makes sense.

Also, if Rocks had the Ope Ope no Mi, possible he just cut up the island.

We never saw God Valley's capital, did we? Moria's castle was very extensive and elaborate, it could very well be God Valley's castle.

Oda just keeps cementing why he's the GOAT.

Elbaph is unbelievable kino. To have it follow Egghead is an embarrassment of riches.

The clash panel is goated. I feel like Egghead and Elbaf have had a lot of amazing panels despite having a lot of.... Not so good ones.

The mural is an obvious highlight, Loki's introduction, the Gorosei arriving, and I thought Cerberus was dope too
