Read up on this. I'm not lying when I say Croc > Commanders. Only Commander (that isn't a weird case like Kuzan or Mihawk where they're actually just a top/god tier) that can possibly beat or stalemate him is Benn Beckman

One thing which doesn't make sense is the why oda is drawing so many parallels?
I don't think he ran out of ideas or doesn't know how to build the story.
It seems deliberate - Roger /SHs, Harald and Loki, Xebec and Teach, Garp and Coby, Glorissa and Boa.
There has to be narrative lore of some prophecy

I get the Croc love-fest but y'all gotta be able to rationalize it in a way for us to make it believable.
Lucci got re-introduced into the story but he didn't just comback with his pre-ts skill set.
Oda had to give him awakening in order to justify him being in that high commander range.
Notion that Croc who's is terminally dependent on his fruit is going to somehow come into the story with just his logia in a world where powerful haki and other abilities exist and smoke some of the strongest high tiers isn't very convincing even with power-creep as the justification.
At least lead with awakening or something coz otherwise it's very hard to visualize.

As I said, people need to calm down with Cross guild wank. They aren't much important in grand scheme of things. Their only relevance is bringing Mihawk into a faction which can make him fight Zoro after Warlord system was abolished.

Croc wasn't some rando CP9 agent pre-TS. He was a Warlord and proved himself capable at MF.
In that same arc, the very same Croc who you're gassing up was threatened enough by pre-ts Luffy to stop attacking WB. This was his level and even on MF when his strength was quote and quote "retconned" his weakness were pretty glaring. This is the man that people are saying is going to high diff peak high tiers
It's not hard to look menacing with a powerful Logia like his. Hell even Smoker who has a weaker DF was flexing on MF.
I'm not saying Croc is not going to be upscaled in some way. It is feasible but y'all have to come with much better arguments than "he's a shichibukai" or "he blocked mihawk". Fcking Vista was able to fight Mihawk to a bloody draw on MF and the man is fodder to top tiers.
Also I'm not the biggest Lucci fan but calling Lucci a random Cp9 agent is very disingenuous and even the whole warlord argument you're using goes to shit simply by looking at the SHs PL rankings.
The reality is that I could make a very strong argument for Jinbe beating Croc but that very same Jinbe would get washed by any peak high tier.
Croc has a powerful Devil Fruit but that is it but at the top level when put against powerful haki users, he's incredibly limited.
