The problem are for those that didn't accept Kuzan as one of the most important characters of OP after that double spread and downplayed that exchange.

The portrayal in itself is good, but if you pay attention, Roger seems pretty young here. He doesn't even have his trademark mustache.

So while it suggest Roger and Garp were comparable while young, I still think it's heavily implied that in their prime, they weren't
