Buccaneer has special power in non scientific term which is called the power of love. Maybe Davy Clan uses this power to eat multiple devil fruits. It can be a power that was widely known by the people 800 years ago. Davy Clan are simply the only clan preserving this knowledge until today.

Rocks loved his son and died for him
Would it not make sense for Teach’s power to be related to the love his father had for him? As that’s what we were told the buccaneer’s power is?

Kuma gained power trying to save Bonney
Rocks used his power to save Teach, but probably being one of the strongest buccaneers, he was able to apply the power in a different way
Teach was always gonna be some sort of mutant given his weird constitution but not gonna lie I'm surprised he's been revealed to be a Buccaneer. Always felt like if anyone was revealed to be one, it'd be the original Nika or something so this link to the Davy Clan is interesting. More Buccaneer lore also means more info on PoL so I'm game for that.
Anyways on this Teach/Buccaneer thing though, there are stack difference btw Kuma and Rocks/Teach like I'm sure has already been pointed out in this thread. For one there is a significant difference in size btw Kuma and Teach for instance. Moreover Kuma doesn't seem to have the weird sleeping constitution that Teach does. So Kuma and Teach/Rocks are probably fundamentally different types of Bucaneers.
Maybe kinda like we have the Ancient Giants and the Giants we have different breeds of Buccaneers.
For instance let's say the Buccaneers are a mixed breed of Giants and something else, would a Buccaneer born from a regular giant be the same as a Buccaneer born from an Ancient Giant?
I get the feeling that whatever Loki is or maybe whatever Loki's mom's family is could potentially link to this Buccaneer lore

Love seems to the next lvl of power in this arc. We have Sanji version of PoL, then Kuma's, now possibly Davy clan related PoL. Love seems to be some kind of cosmic power in the OP world that many people have access to. I don't know how to feel about that. I always pictured it to be a special power unique to Sanji but it doesn't seem to be the case now. I still interested in how Oda will go about it and hopefully every character has a unique take on it and not some generic extra background black lightning like Oda did with Haki.
