People also don't realize how you could easily argue this chapter makes Roger look better than Garp anyway.

Garp wanted to catch some big names and completely failed, no matter how cool he looked. They evaded him and got away clean.

Roger, meanwhile, actually managed to catch Whitebeard in a clash that allowed Rayleigh to get ahead to Shakky. He literally succeeded where Garp failed.

I still can't get over the fact that Jiraiya's excuse for Naruto only learning a slightly bigger rasengan in 2 whole years (which took shadow clones to make mind you 😭) was that the training focused on controlling the kyuubi......yet Naruto somehow got even worse control over the 9 tails as he let it consume him unlike ever before the literal first 2 arcs back from the ts😭

Kaidou’s strength at 5 years old is equivalent to Roger and Garp at 20 years old, just to give you an idea.

BM at child was a monster and her attack here did nothing to garp.
Oden was doing crazy shit as bady and Roger and WB out class his when he was older .
Dragon right now is times weaker than luffy at his age but when Oda ready to show him off he will be one of the strongest people in the series.
Being a monster when your young don't really matter after a certain point you and you just become another strong person .

Kaido wanted to fight yes but chose not to as he had bigger goals of taking a powerful DF which was his first preference.

I thought Kaido asked Big Mom to get his Devil Fruit for him? So you’re saying he chose not to fight Garp because he had more important things to do, such as pestering Big Mom about getting him a Devil Fruit? Lol

So why couldn’t Kaido fight Garp while Big Mom got his Devil fruit for him?
