On the cover page, Lil' Loki is drawing Ida while being surrounded by his animal friends. Oh...oh this is just heartbreaking. Especially now that everyone but Loki is all probably dead. Ooof.
And that tone seems to be carried into the main chapter itself, with Brook breaking down after finding Leuven's body. We didn't him long, but his death still kind of gets to me, a little, if only because Brook cares so much.
And, yes, Imu is currently possessing Marcus Mars' Itsumade form right now. Thought so, but it was a little up in the air, before we could see Imu's little head popping up above Mars' head.
We get confirmation that Shuri is a Celestial Dragon by blood. And that Leuven did lie about the demand for 1000 slaves. I honestly thought he was telling the truth about that, so it fooled me! I called that one wrong.
We learn who the God's Knight is, and it's Saint Manmayer Groh. And, yup, that seems to be Shuri's biological father. He has the same heterochromia and everything. Man, I called a BUNCH of things wrong last chapter.
And we do learn that these "mismatched eyes" are special somehow. But, we don't get any details about how. So, I guess this probably counts as another "hidden race"? Like the Three-Eye Tribe, or Buccaneers. The power needs to be "awakened", somehow. So, this'll probably come up again in the future.
Reversi'd Shuri (or...should we call her Gunko, now?) even stabs Brook right through the head with his own sword attack! And, no, it's not like it just went through his afro and missed his head completely. They say this sword went right straight through his head and he survived that. Before he ever even got the Soul Fruit. It didn't even seem to effect his memories, because he says he just thought he was hallucinating seeing Shuri with wings and horns. Right....Humans in the One Piece World are just made of different STUFF! I guess this explains skeleton-Brook's "scar" on his forehead.
Which kind of brings up a interesting question. Why DID Shuri change her name? The Celestial Dragons KNEW she was Shuri. We didn't see her lose her memories yet. So...why the name change to "Gunko"? Yeah, we're probably going to see the other half of this flashback once Shuri/Gunko gets unfrozen. Flashback-Piece isn't over yet!
Even though this particular flashback is. We're back to the present again! We didn't even get to see Brook join or form the Rumbar Pirates. Or even get his Devil Fruit. Kind of a shame, but it would have been a bit odd for Brook to go on about that, right now, given the situation.
Apparently, Brook didn't even know about Devil Fruits back when this was all happening. It's easy to forget Devil Fruits aren't something that're really common all throughout the World. The majority of them really do seem to be concentrated in the Grand Line.
"I want to save her!" OF COURSE YOU DO! Yeah....I don't know if Shuri's going to become a Strawhat, but she's probably not going back with Imu after this. We do still need to learn about how she lost her memories, at least. Everyone's so supportive of helping Brook, it's just so nice. Even though...it'd probably be a better idea to just leave her in the ice for now. Until they deal with...everything else happening at the same time. But, Oda does love having multiple plotlines going all at once, so here we go!
Luffy...is FULL! That alone should fill everyone with fear. Luffy is NEVER full! He's at max power!
"800 years ago, the Giant Race were defeated in a bid to rescue their children." So...wait...is Imu saying that he was trying to REMOVE the Giant's weakness by taking the kids first before whatever other threat tried to do the same thing? Or is he just doing the same thing that happened back then? Because, I do feel like Imu is preparing for some other big threat, that no one else knows about. So, I could see him deciding to take the Giant Kids before someone else did the same thing. Especially if the same group that did that the first time is going to return. But, I'm probably overthinking it.
ONE PUUUUNCH! Luffy's here! The fight can finally start! Unless it's already over with one punch? But, I doubt it. I'm not expecting a terribly long fight, but hopefully it's a interesting one.
