Repeat of Crocodile or Kaido’s first fight. Luffy has to go again from being neg. diffed to fully defeating him next arc. I know Oda wants the final villain to be hyped but this whole sequence this late in the series is kind of bad. What more Luffy can improve now. CoC? That’s it? Luffy should have put up a better fight before being over powered this late in the series.

I suppose he can improve fruit too. And then yes, haki likely.

Imu is the Final Villain, so to defeat him he will need the One Piece power up. One Piece is probably useless for anyone except Nika. So yes, this fight will happen after BB defeate, and maybe all admirals. Luffy will go threw gauntlet untill he will be ready to face Imu. Also Luffy is not going to face Imu 1x1. On the Mural we saw how JB and all his allies jumped on Imu, but Imu won

The problem was chapter when Luffy punched Imu. That was the lamest thing that ever happened. And it was just the usage of plot armor. Which is bad writing

We're gonna need another major training arc after Elbaf, Imu is pretty hax. Luffy will have to hit G7 and master Conquerors Haki, while unlocking the memories of Joy Boy. I love the fact that G5 alone is not peak Luffy. This should be a lesson to people who lean too much on the words of characters or narrators to create expectations and powerscaling.

These characters are flawed and overconfident and the story is a multipolar pov. That's the point of the journey. Only the end and the "last challenge" can bring the real potential.
