Oden has no navigational skills just like zoro (both swordsman).WB also said Oden doesn't seem like the person who follows orders. Just like zoro. always nice to see oda push the zoro=oden trait.

Kaido must have been building his crew at the time and I have the feeling that he met and perhaps even fought Oden while he was on WB or Roger's ship. Linlin might have been reinforcing her crew and enlarging her territory too.
