Chapter 967: Roger's adventure.
Ganfall helped Roger and his crew leave Skypiea and it was soon after that they ended up in Water seven. It's there that Roger finds out that there is a red stone (polyglph) in Zou but Big Mom already took that one. In water seven Roger meets up with Tom and they talk about the sea train which hasn't been finished yet. Oden offers to talk to Roger on Franky's behalf (possibly to invite him on the ship) but Franky declines because he doesn't want to be a pirate who abandons people. They then next head to Fishman Island where en route Roger hears voices talking to him, but no one other than Oden can hear what they say. Roger then meets with Neptune who he refers to as a Grand Knight. Neputne accuses him of doing something but Roger proclaims his innocence.
Apparently it has been prophesied that soon the gate of Fishman island would be broken right around the time they showed up. However it turns out to be the doing of a Sea King and Neptune has to accept it really wasn't Roger's group. Sharyly (age 3) prophesies that the Sea Kings are waiting for the time the Mermaid princess is born to run wild. Everyone is celebrating Neptune's new child, but he is shocked as he's not even married yet. That being said, Sharyly did prophesier the former king's date of death and it seems recently he has gotten on good terms with Otohime, so it seems like it is a sure thing. Oden reads the Polyglph here and it's simply a letter of apology and nothing about the weapon written in Skypiea.
Neptune thinks that perhaps if the tale of a fishman with the ability to talk to sea kings is born then perhaps....Roger figures out what he means, that his daughter is the weapon the Polyglph speaks of. She won't be born for another ten years but Neptune still thinks this is a fairy tale. After they leave Fishman island and are near Wano, Toki falls ill and Crocus suggests that she be taken back there to recover. Nekomamushi and Inuarashi suggest they stay behind with Toki since Kinemon and the others don't know her, and Oden says he will as well. Toki however begs him to keep going on his adventure and that she'll be fine. Upon arriving in Wano everyone expects Oden to stay behind and run things, but Toki again tells them that he should remain at sea.
He knows that there are major changes coming to Wano and he can't pretend he doesn't realize that. He knows if he stays behind that it's likely he'll never take to sea again. (Everyone calls him a bum for this, including Roger who he yells at for asking him to come along in the first place, lol.)It's 4 years later that they arrive at Zou and Oden has a strange feeling upon arrival. The king of Mokomo Dukedom received a letter from Nekomamushi and Inuarashi reporting that they are alive and their current status. Meanwhile Oden still has an uneasy feeling about the island and Roger concurs –it feels as if something huge is watching them...it's there that they find the Road Polyglph with the Kodzuki seal, and Oden is amazed that his family really was in league with the Mink tribe.
It's there that Roger speaks to a young Pedro as well about how everyone has a time where it'll be their turn. They have the Rio Polyglph and the 4 Road Polyglphs together but it's clear Roger's health is beginning to fail him. Still he asks if they've figured out where to go and head there. However Buggy comes down with a high fever and can't go to the final island. Shanks elects to stay with him instead of going, and says that he'll go someday on his own ship. The world hears of Roger's round the world voyage and discovery of an unheard of island. He gets many names “Conqueror of the Seas” “King of the seas” and finally the one that stuck. “Pirate King.” Oden writes about how they learned everything –the ancient weapons, the meaning of the blank century, the truth behind the D clan...but even with the treasures he sought before him Roger simply laughed. As did everyone on his ship.Roger laughs at the treasure Joy Boy left behind and calls it a hilarious story. He then says he's thought of a name for the island that no one has been on in more than 800 years –a truly laughable story.
Laugh Tale.
END.
