Man Oda really loves Oden lol, this man is pulling out all the stops to wank this character through the roof 😂 If you take everything at face value this man Oden went head to head with the strongest man in the world Whitebeard, was about to be double-teamed by Rayleigh and Scopper, took only minor damage from Roger's named attack and was even/superior to Kaido lmfao. The wank potential is endless 
It's only when you read between the lines that you realise the wank is fake and Oda's been very careful about not making these hints too obvious but they're there. And in this case, 25 years ago Kaido admitted inferiority to Oden. 23 years ago Kaido was still rivalling the likes of Moriah. So Kaido being even with Oden 20 years ago means he was growing in strength significantly and current Kaido is absolutely incomparable with the version of Kaido that matched Oden.
