Oda’s taking this piece and cranking it up to eleven. And I figured he wouldn’t gloss over this sequence. This is essentially what the entire flashbacks been leading up to. These are likely also where Oden imparts his last wishes to his retainers. He basically told them nothing for the past 5 years, but now that he’s in literally his final hour, he’s gonna trust them with the task of opening the borders and helping to fulfill what he learned at Laugh Tale.
So this was the incredibly amazing reason to justify why Oden trusted the known liar and trickster Orochi, refused to fight for his country when they needed him most, danced naked in the streets for half a decade adding further insult to his people whilst they starved, were executed and forced into labour? Only to attack ANYWAY simply to lose because he left it too long...
It's almost as if the stankiness of this plot point could be smelt from its very creation. It's almost as if people were justified to call trash out on the spot knowing there was zero possible way there could be any satisfactory explanation. But it seems like Oda didn't even try and simply used a generic "tHeY HaD hOsTaGeS" excuse, and for Oden to legitimately believe that Orochi, from the Kurozumi clan that strived for so long to rule Wano, would simply up and leave if Oden gave him a strip tease...I really don't know what to say lmfaooooo.
Fairly hard to argue that there is a character worse than Oden post timeskip. What a mistake his entire existence was...

When so much at stake, he didn't think through what if Kaidou n Orochi were lying and had no Backup plan in action?
And then simply head on went to face Kaidou without any help after all that, even tho when he is on such good term to two Most Powerful Crew in Onepiece?
Was he confident enough to take Kaidou on? , if Yes it makes his decision to make a deal with em utterly stupid.
If not, when so much at Stake, was he too proud or stupid to not call for help in 5 years time?
Oden didn't deserve Wano, he is good human at heart bt that's about it.
It really can't "go eitherway". It was obvious in the chapter Oden started dancing that there would be no possible way it could be justified.
It couldn't be because of hostages, because the people of Wano were being executed, starved and slaved all throughout the 5 years anyways.
It couldn't be some crazy void century thing, because Oden all of a sudden decided to fight after the death of a character so irrelevant she wasn't even given a name, and simply is referred to as "Hyoguro's wife". The death of an unnamed character was more important than what agreement was made??? I don't think so.
What we were shown in that chapter contradicted itself.
5 years of negligence of Wano's country and people < Agreement x < Hyoguro's wife
^^ This is the core of the issue here, and cannot be reasonably justified no matter what x happened to be. That's why you could comfortably call BS in the initial chapter. And guess what? Turns out that's exactly what it was. Utter trash.

And now.. he's begging Kaido to let him live? How fucking pathetic is this??
And him believing Kaido and Orochi yet again?? This is just stupid, I mean, for god sake.
