Yeah i know folklore about ishikawa, but we saw more unnecessary chapters in current timeline than in flashbacks. Probably the main reason why Oda keeps drawing flashbacks is the fact that Oden is alive. Otherwise that would be a little bit disappointing for me. Like we got impressive character with extraordinary past and he died ( even like this )

Ye they all do this but when u look at the vote thing in the thread after the chapter is released it's different from the comment section in the Spoiler thread people like jumping to conclusions even when we have little infos.....gotta live with that
Fk the poneglyphs Kaido should know that Oden went to Raftel he can ask straight for directions but tbh I think this can also be a lie (that Kaido did what he did to Oden cuz he wanted infos about the poneglyphs I think he don't rly give much sh** he just want to do his business)

It was more his '15 year old self'. Sadly cannot recall where the interview is, probably in some forum where threads collecting Oda quotes may reside.
Be that as it may, I seriously doubt any 15 year old, much less Oda at that age, was hyped about reading a bunch of off-panelled fights and situations - for years on end.
Anyway. Been giving the benefit of the doubt to the character of Oden and the flashback in general, but tbh it feels like there's been a lot more misses than hits. That also goes for the arc as a whole up to now. A damn shame because this was the arc I had been looking forward to the most.

I care two hoots about fighting.
Simple, Toki transported Oden into the future BEFORE transporting the retainers.
Meaning, He was transported into future.
Everyone there assumed he died and melted (including the retainers)
Something happened allowed the retainers to escape (maybe Shinobu cut them loose)
Asura Douji and Denjiro stayed behind to hold off Kaido and clash with him (as we saw from before). While they asked Kinemon and co to go to Kuri and save Momonosuke, Hiyori and Toki while they are holding off Kaido. Since I can imagine Orochi already sent people there to cut off the bloodline of Oden, as they are the true heir to shogun throne.
On their way, Inuarashi and Nekumamushi started to argue and blame each others, and they got captured (that's what Kinemon stated)
The ones who arrived then at Kuri were (Kinemon, Raizo, Kiku, Kanjuro, and Kawamatsu)
They met Toki
Toki trasported all of them into future. while, she let Kawamatsu take care of Hiyori
So, yeah. oden was thought to be dead by everyone, including the retainers. So, basically if there was a time to transport him, it was during the execution, while everyone, including the retainers think he was melted by the boiling pot
