Maybe Oda finally realized that he did Kaido and BM really dirty with their portrayals and he now pulls a Meruem, where a completely overpowered son kills his mother (and father in this case) to become the actual villain of the saga ...

Finally spoilers worth commenting on.
Early on before Wano even started I entertained the notion of Kaidou having offspring of some sort, but once the arc started and the longer it went on that possibility seemed to diminish because it felt like adding an unnecessary layer to what already is a convoluted, overcrowded arc.
But now, I'm all for it! Won't speculate on power levels and rank yet. If he has any. Of course he could be a complete nerd:
Kaidou WSC World's Strongest Creature
Kaidou Jr Worlds' Brainiest Creature
It could be a Momo situation, but we all know Momo will eventually grow into becoming more like his father, so there's that.

If Zoro n Sanji can go from beating Veterans to King n Queen, Law who's stronger and will also contribute in Kaidou fight, can indeed fight Low Top Tier, if restrictions on his df are removed like Stamina problems, and if he's df is Awakened, you can bet he easily can do so. Don't forget his df is the Ope Ope no mi, one of the most expensive hyped df in Onepiece.
