It has always been hinted and it has nothing to do with Kaido using King's sword.
Zoro has been hinted to be the second coming of Ryuma who cut a dragon above the capital. With Kaido moving his headquarters to the capital the manga is setting that up.
It's still the 3rd act. There are 2 more to go. The alliance should take a major ass whooping that will end in a climax. Kaido then moves to the capital that sets the scenes up for the 2 last acts.

also if ppl want 100% accurate depiction of Yamato no Orochi then after killing him we should get Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi from his tail.
ppl forgetting One Piece isnt a copy pasta of other fictions. It takes inspiration from them. Oda isnt stupid enough to use them in their default form. that would translate to "Oda didnt input any creativity from his part. he took it from myth/fiction and slap it as his own"
