- Would have been cool if they incorporated the epic OP sequence for Luffy's "Ceiling" scene.
- That looks like Luffy and Bullet's haki clash in Stampede. But neither Luffy or Kaido is using CoC here.
- Black Maria's extra jiggly Marias approaching the screen.
- Sanji using Maria's own webs to become Spiderman. He's shockingly competent facing a room of females.
- There needs to be filler of Luffy, Law and Kid playing more games on the roof.
- CGI Punk Rotten and the compositing in the final scene came out alright. Now let's see it in action.
Pretty okay episode. I'm not too surprised this week since we almost never get strong episodes back-to-back, just a little sad we couldn't wait until Chapter 1003 to start outsourcing. Off model art for Kaido and Big Mom, overuse of auras and colors to spice up flat scenes, basic OST choices, interrupting the fight with a Sanji filler sequence, etc. We were truly blessed this week.
The highlights were definitely the snapshot reel of the trio dodging the Heavenly Bon Bons, Black Maria fanservice, and Zoro + Killer's combo for delivering a simple but sleek sequence albeit with reused elements. The episode only adapted the standard 2/3rds of chapter 1001, Roof Piece will be around for a while and I imagine quality between week to week will vary quite a bit.
