Wow. Props to this episode, that was some really good food. King having little magma dragons was a cool filler technique.

Am glad none of that seizure golden aura that Luffy CoC showed was used. Both Sanji and Zoro got spectacular shows. :cheers: Hoping BM vs. Law and Kidd will get the same treatment.

animators dont change their style because an anime goes from seasonal to weekly or vice versa.
The reason why the One piece anime has different styles is because....
the anime allows freedom. As simple as that.
Animators are artists. They want their touch on their sequence, their artstyle to flourish and show the world

I don’t mind freedom but it makes the show quite disturbing : ten episodes with weak ass animation, one good episode with one style, one episode with an other style, a single moment with a particular style etc.

Frankly it makes it hard to follow the anime because you never know what to except. You know that key moments will have nice animations and you did t even know what style it will be, and the reste will be quite poor.

I would frankly prefer one style in all the anime. They should choose one and stick with it.

That's what seperates One Piece from most other seasonals. This "consistency" in style you're talking about, is Animation directors ensuring all characters are as on-model as possible. While it allows a quality assurance for weaker Animators - basically improving on their drawings - veteran or special animators run fear that their cuts may get corrected and their work butchered

I'm not saying this would never happen on One Piece, but the likelihood of that is 10x lower because of the production philosophy the Wano team has been adopting. That's why so many talented people want to work on wano. Not because of budget or because the manga is so amazing. Sure they play a role for one or the other person working on the show. But it really is this artistic freedom that draws in everyone. The other stuff like Good scheduling the team managed to established, actual decent pay (for anime industry standards) and a cool series for some are just

I think Toei knew they couldn’t make a consistent and good quality animation so at least with this freedom some moments and some scenes are greatly animated.

Prime example: My Hero academia after Season 3. This is exactly what happened there

I agree the first 3 seasons were far better than the rest

but the 3 first seasons were seasonal and had great animations. And they felt coherent and with the same spirit.

So you can have both.

This I agree with. My brother was watching the anime and couldn't watch wano due to mid quality of it and pacing. Some episodes like this are super but most of them are mid.
