How that doesn't mean that?
What else was that light that went into the lab before explosion happened?
I mean that light was Kizaru but I didn’t interpret that as meaning Kizaru was with the clones, just weird anime timing where he sent the clone ahead first from the water and then showed up himself elsewhere later

along himself

Exactly,
instead of where in the manga he was there all along
he only arrived later there after Goofy kicked him and the clones and his light went into the lab
Based on this interpretation I think the last time you saw the real Kizaru was when he threw the clones at Goofy in a chain

Yeah, the TOEI clones are quite different from the manga ones. In the manga it's an attack that just spawns extra copies, ala Doflamingo's string replica. In the anime it seems that to make the clones Kizaru must necessarily split himself up, which logically means splitting his strength between them – TOEI Kizaru can't stay full-power AND have summoned clones beside him.

The manga ones thus seem like a stronger ability overall.

Edit: upon further inspection, maybe this breakdown isn't correct.

You guys are overanalyzing this imo, the clones in the anime showcase far more independence, can fire beams, respawn when broken, etc

They're clearly a lot stronger as shown here

Hmm, upon second thought, this is quite curious indeed. Obviously Luffy was using haki against them, yet they continued reforming no matter what. It honestly seems like Kiz just kinda can't get hurt in this state at all. He can get scattered into light particles, but not actually injured.
