The supersonic purple aura flying dash only moved him forward like 20 feet. The cube explosion did nothing to the environment
You seriously want me to find you flaws of consistency in old animation?
What do you mean supersonic purple aura "only moved" him 20 feet. Like was aura automatically moving him? It would only move him as far as he wants to move.

Are you talking shit just for the sake of talking shit?
The supersonic aura was to convey power of the attack. It is something Oda himself should have done when he shows two high super human characters fighting.

Unlike that underwhelming ass Oden scarring Kaido art.

I think it is a bit funny that Ishizuka does go so hard with the background animation and the such, but the background artist find it difficult to keep up.

I imagine it goes something like.

"Ishizuka-san, we aren't going to draw the debris so please refra-"
"BRRRRRRRR!"

**** this is supposed to be a CQC fight between two melee weapon users. Dump all that fancy aura and random rainbow explosion bullshit for the sake of animation fluidity and impact. Oda shouldn't have done shit lmao; he understands that his manga isn't DragonBall, unlike the weird fucks at toei

The aura stuff looks dumb as fuck. Rest of the fight including last episode was great, but Zoro turning into a big purple blob, blowing up the environment into perfectly cut cubes which then is totally fine after the attack is ridiculous looking.
Zoro did not turn into big purple blob, it was supposed to show Zoro is moving at ridiculous speed which is how it should always been.

He has been moving FTE since whiskey peak.
And aura shit is not new for One Piece either, Zoro has had demon aura in manga, want me to show you?

Katsumi Ishizuka popped off.

Holy shit, this may just be his best scene ever, not just in Wano, and this was the animator who handled stuff like Luffy's storm against Crocodile and his jet Gattling against Lucci. What an evolution.

Put in the matrix memes bois, his becoming the one.

Katsumi "GOAT" Ishizuka

Aside from that Mitchell Gonzales and Tetsuro Nireki also popped off. Luffy beating up that gifter was actually really well animated. I do love the fact the anime is incorporating more web gen animators, as well as some animators adopting a more modern style in terms of timing. Even if you didn't particularly like Luffy's filler fight, I think it was hard to deny it was at least very well animated.
Mitchell Gonzales

Tetsuro Nireki did an insane amount of work this episode, handling a huge portion of both Zoro and Luffy's fight. Although I think he did great in both scenes, I think I prefer the weightiness of everything in his Luffy scene. His Zoro scene is also incredibly ambitious, but I think some of the weightiness in the action was lost in the swordplay. It is harder to animate sword play than normal hand to hand combat.
Tetsuro Nireki
Tetsuro Nireki 0:00 to 0:35 Midori Uchimaya 0:36 to end.

EDIT: Midori Uchimaya, someone who actually did some decent action on 839 way back in WCI, actually did Gyukimaru intervening to Ishizuka's scene.

How are these effects cheap? If anything, they are not only just far more visually effective, but also require far more effort and skill to actually animate. So in literally no way cheaper.
Cheap in the sense that I don't think they make the material far more visually effective but gimmicky. It is the animation equivalent of a casino full of lights and sounds.

Why was the golden snake cringey? It was neatly animated visual depiction meant to hype up the attack.
It has nothing to do with the actual attack. It is like adding bolts of lightning coming out of nowhere and hitting the ground during an argument between two people. You could very well say they were neatly animated and hyped up the discussion, but at the end of the day are an unnecessary addition because the strength of the scene is what is actually happening and not some flashy effects without no actual justification nor real connection to it (especially if the original material doesn't use such resource, which is the case).

Also, you completely missed the visual point of the punch. The reason why the punch was heavily animated with wavering line art was to show the intensity and power behind the blow. Your supposed to admire how the characters are deformed by the power and emotion of the attack.
No shit, really? That's obvious. But there's quite a huge difference between a punch heavily animated with wavering line art to increase the intensity of its movement and filling the frame with a big red aura that wasn't in the manga (which is way less flashy than the anime, and therefore the latter affects the style of the former by adding so much effects) and that literally blurs the actual art of Kaido receiving the punch and which, once again, was nowhere to be seen in the original scene.

"Organic" means, for example, not waving your arm for no reason like it had no bone (Sabo about to send hiken) or shooting a fast attack with your punch closed yet for no reason animating a moment highlighting how you open each finger and then close the punch again without any in-story justification (Luffy about to hit with King Cobra). That is what organic means: following a realistic logic in the natural movement of a body.

You literally don't know your what you are talking about. When has there ever been a high level sword fight with proper blade clashing sequences in DBZ? When has DBZ ever had this fluid, this dynamic animation as the Zoro running and clashing swords with Killer or the finisher? Go ahead show me one clip.

CqC fight? What is a CqC fight? You telling me throughout the entire fight, they didn't move more than 2 feet away from each other? How do you know what happened during their off panel fight?

Its DBZ like fight because we saw flying slashes? As if we haven't seen flying slashes clashing between Zoro vs Kaku?

Or cuz of demon aura? Have you even read One Piece? Do you even know Zoros character and how many times demon aura has been associated with him? With literally had similar aura to this during Enies Lobby with Enbima Oni Giri. Hell we had Zoros aura take physical form with Ashura.

Drop all that fancy shit?
So for the first time in forever One Piece animation is actually worth while, when they are actually doing something that you can show to non One Piece fans and them be impressed and its too many fancy shit for you?

You understand generally the way Oda handles fight or old toei is absolutely garbage right? The CqC sequences, movements all are low quality, MHS characters feel like they are moving slower than a bicycle. For the first time they did justice to how fast these characters are and you lost your shit?

Its almost like you want One Piece animation and fights to be shit like they ALWAYS HAVE BEEN?

Dudes wondering why the Grandmaster looks powerful, well it is because dude came out of the timeskip admiral level. The manga 100% justifies toei's actions. GREAT JOB TOEI, make sure go over the top when THAT sword comes out.
Wait till Zoro literally detonated a nuclear bomb when he tames Enma.
Toei knows who the biggest money draw is and it sure as hell ain't Luffy and hence Toei spends biggest money on Zoro.
Post automatically merged:

The samurai showdown in Kurosawa's Sanjuro looks way more like a Zoro finisher Oda would do than any supersonic aura that cuts the environment into cubes that Toei may make up.
And when someone runs as fast as Zoro does, environment would take a damage. So if anything Toei is doing right where Oda went wrong because quite frankly he is shit at writing fights.

Haha it is hilarious to see to shit on original content just to wank the shit out of character. This is new low.

If you think anime make shit lot o justice to Zoro fainting, then you should also accept that he saw the attack coming and couldn't dodge which means Killer got hit even without that fox interference.

Fight looks good in the previous episode but this episode it looks like shit except for last named attack. Average episode.

Why do you hate Zoro so much?
You know same hunger effect was in manga as well right?
And how did they shit on original content because they spent more money on animating Zoro than anyone else in Wano so far?

Also you know Zoro seeing the attack and not even attempting to dodge makes Zoro look good right because it literally means Zoro let the attack happen so he catches his weapon? Zoro has done crazier shit than that in the past such as wanting to cut his leg off so that is nothing new for Zoro?

Idk what to think about Zoro getting stabbed with the Scythe.

It looks like Zoro is a fucking masochist tbh XD.
That but I legit don't understand the point homie @Emperor is trying to make, like how does seeing attack coming make Zoro look bad? Even if Zoro saw attack coming and didn't purposeful take it, he was still in uncomfortable position, he had just dodged another attack. It was a high level due with one of the fastest supernovas, Killer was dancing around Urouge.
