Guys like Helmeppo who were total scrubs and didn't have genetic or great lineage (Morgan was a bum) became "strong" at least compared to your average soldier with only training.

Coby too went from 0 to 10000000 with only training
If Coby has COC (which is possible) then he had genetics predisposition, he just didn't have the right mindset until meeting Luffy

All these letters are from the Straw Hat Novel small chapters.

Sanjis chapter was fine but I wouldn’t say all that good. (Def not better than Luffys or Namis imo) basically it was about a woman at the baratie who daydreams about Sanji during her date. A little comments about how he’d be able to seduce the many women in the restaurant multiple times including the narrator and that the main reason pirates didn’t attack the baratie regularly was fear of Sanji and now that he’s gone they get attacked quite regularly.

Overall not a huge miss to not be included, but it would’ve been nice seeing Zeff again.

Honestly it has potential , it might be a little controversial to animate given she’s thinking about how Sanji would seduce women but the Baratie being attacked after Sanji left is interesting especially with Zeff being there.

When I was watching the episode, i felt the girl is literally each one of us (op audience). The paramount war gave me goosebumps. Garp was so cute. It was worth the time. Probably my favorite one piece special.

COC is not merely a genetic thing. Its a personality thing.

Thats why children at a young age can demonstrate it, but it can also bloom as one gets older.

For Koby, it was likely his change of disposition which allowed him to unlock it if he does indeed have it.

No, she Is just a big fan.

In fact, they changed the novel since in the original the character was a hikikomori kind of Sanji-like who was in awe with Nami. Probably they thought that was a bit too crepy to put into an anime (even though It's not very different from other things we have seen).
So the novel character was a dude like sanji? Why did they change it?

I think she has a crush on nami, you know she dresses like nami

I think its probably the directors choice.

The director really loves telling stories from the perspective of young girls, and you can see that in her university work and work on music videos.

Hell, you can even see it in episode 957, where she frames the tragedy of what happened to Vivi and Cobra through the perspective of a young girl seeing her parents cry.

Probably becuase an hikikomori is japanese kind of "stereotype" and ok, but at large It would have been seen as weird for an adult man to basically be totally addicted to Nami, with poters and all. Thinking no stop about her all day in his room.

It's not different from a lot of things we have already seen but in the west, with all the problems regarding stalking, harrassment, etc. of women, It was probably seen as problematic.

Also, the plot of the girl is quite differnt from the original.
