It is general consensus that the music on Film Red made the film much worse. I know that without even watching the film. Musical Films are for children/babies not for someone that is willing to be a fan of One Piece Series.
He didn't even mentioned the extra volume that One Piece had in 2022? That volume and Film Red are what made One Piece 2022 sell much more than previous years. Without it would be the have decline in sales was usually(be sure it will happen this year).

Best One Piece movie is Baron Omatsuri's one. If sales were truly equivalent to the quality of a film then James Cameron's Avatars, the Fast and Furious saga, Disney Star Wars trilogy, many Superhero movies and all the One Piece movies produced by Oda himself would be far lower in sales than they are.
Regardless of what you think of quality, RED is the reason OP has had as strong of a year as it has had.
And the songs are a massive part of it, with New Genesis in particular being one of the biggest songs of the year in Japan.

People who have been whining and coping about the series on WG as being over or falling off are mostly just young and bitter. A love for the franchise is something more. For how long this series has been going and has this much popularity is unheard of, and that’s a fact. Say what you will, but Oda is the only mangaka so far to have this longevity AND growing appeal

The reason for the increased sales is because there were four volumes released this year instead of the usual three hence the additional 3+ million in sales. However, sales per volume are still in decline. This year was the first time it has increased the past 7 years but only by about 10%. Also, I don't base One Piece quality off sales lol. One Piece can become as popular as Oda and his marketing team wants it to be and it will still be crap writing lmao.
