and the bad thing is, the other manga will have 2 week break too.

Well there's 8 and a half weeks left until the end of the year....... 6 of those weeks need a chapter somehow in order to reach 1000. If Oda goal was to reach 1000 by the end of the year the most he could afford from this point on is a 2 week break.

The official website of the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine has edited the date of the continuation of the weekly manga in 2020. In this new list, the magazine is number 52 and the magazine is not closed in November 2020 ( 21 & 30). - Now everything depends on Oda. Oda rests for a week after this chapter(*994). By the end of 2020, Oda has only 6 chapter left to get to 1000 chapters. If in these 6 weeks (*after the break of Chapter 994) Oda takes break, we will have it in 2021.

I doubt chapter 1000 will occur in 2020, I fail to imagine a December featuring 4 chapters in a row. Not impossible though, that would set a huge record IIRC.

But you know what, this tragic year is not deserving chapter 1000. It would be even greater if chapter 1000 was the first chapter hitting in the new year.

So if Oda decided to release the chapters without taking a break then we might get chapter 1,000 this year but I doubt it.
