Which is ironic because I love badass female characters but my favorite manga has almost none of them because Loda is a clown.

Yeah, One Piece female characters will never get the badassery and respect that they deserve. You will never see the level of female characters as strong as Azula, Katara, Toph, Suki, Mai, Ty Lee or Kyoshi from ATLA in One Piece.

If you think about it she could be, if Oda used her to her full potential. Oven also would be also immune to Akainu's lava, and Streusen could possibly turn his magma into cooked food, albeit very hot one.
