Devon and Auger are fodder, they couldnt do shit. They would try to take Saturn out at a later point. But this situation is perfect. With Saturn gone they can easily infiltrate the goverment and convince everybody to accept Hachinosu as part of the WG. It must work like that, there is no other possibility at this point.

There was NO REASON to keep him alive after this arc, and no matter how he ends up being defeated, it will be better than no defeat at all

If Saturn goes down, this arc goes from a frustrating arc to the best written arc by Oda, an arc that perfectly mirrors Sabaody:
- The Supernova (= star explosion) met in Sabaody, made chaos and they all escaped except Luffy who was eradicated
- The Gorsoei (5 elder stars) met in Egghead, tried to save Vegapunk's chaos and they all escaped except Saturn who "exploded like a star" (Supernova) and who was eradicated

This is pure genius from Oda if this really happens
