Both crews will return. Law is a D after all, and I also don't think that Oda wrote Kid out of the story like this. They both still have goals to complete. I mean, Oda couldnt even kill Kinemon.



Which is bad writing for me, but thats another topic. They did not earn them by themselves, they waited for weaker crews to collect the porneglyphs and cross their paths. Doesn't make them look good as yonkos at all, especially Shanks.

Shanks didnt do it for the poneglyphs. kidd was the one who delivered them to him

Oda doesn't need to draw them holding RPGs when he made it obvious that fights are about RPG and winner will take it.

Second, they will return but not to compete for PK throne. They are out of this race. Narrator announcing their defeats was for clear signal.

Third, Both shanks and BB are pirates. bB is literally the embodiment of real life pirate and shanks didnt provoke Kidd. It was kidd who provoked shanks. So expecting them to be good in a pirate manga makes no sense.

Not to mention they did defeat them without cheating - BB was there with less than half of his crew while shanks took on kidd alone.
