Villains are supposed to be written differently than protagonists and their allies.
Are they? In a pirate manga ? Oda never claimed Kidd was some saint, and in case people forgot, neither is Luffy(he released a lot of rapists and murderers back in Impel Down in case people forgot)but that fact certainly isn't stopping condom lovers.

Bro he's not supposed to be a good guy. He just happens to help the Straw Hats from time to time.
This is something that happens in almost every story lol. Imagine people started calling Slade an "ally" and a "good guy" to the Teen Titans because he helped them beat Trigon in the show.
Yeah the diffeeence is Slade wasn’t this friend to the teen titans while Kid was treated as a friend and ally of Luffy.

Kid stood for everything that makes a pirate a villain in this manga. So idk why people were shocked when the guy portrayed as a hero among pirates permanently took him out.

No my issue with kid is I don’t want to root for a villain written like an underdog?
He's obviously not going to get what he wants in the end game, though, so I don't get this point
There's nothing to really root for when it comes to him. He'll get some Ws probably, like maybe he finally gets his revenge on Shanks or helps defeat Blackbeard's crew or the Gorosei, but he won't become the Pirate King. That's for certain.

But we did have to root for him in Wano? People don’t like kid because a villain being treated as a good guy for such a long arc is really annoying. Where Luffy treats this dude as a chill guy while we know he’s a casual mass murderer

One Piece fans when the pirate character acts like a fucking pirate
It's not even like he was the worst of the lot, was he? Law was called the Surgeon of Death, Barto slayed a bunch of people iirc....hell even Luffy caused huge problems via the Impel Down thing.

Because Fujitora will be FA eos most likely. I don´t think there´s any real narrative reason to hype Kizaru anymore tbh
Ah, narrative, I see.....that's fair, although personally I'd rather not factor that in, it's very shaky IMO outside of set-in-stone cases like Luffy, Zoro, Imu etc.

Plus who knows? Kizaru and Greenbull might end up doing something crazy that no one expects lol.

I actually want that to happen tbh, it'd be a great twist since they are the only two Admirals atm who don't have much hinted at narrative relevance.

Luffy also seemed to just forgive Buggy and help him out in Impel Down. This is kind of a recurring theme, they sort of forget about the evil shit someone's done whenever they help them out.
But also, they never had any conflict with Kidd anyway. The bad things Kidd did were all to other people in the past.

Because he was the far lesser evil? I mean the dude was up against the character that rapes innocent people, kills innocent people, and even treats her own children like shit for no good reason. He pales in comparison to how evil Big Mom is.
So it's fair to root for him there. Again, remember my Slade-Trigon parallel I made.

Buggy is still a villain? Luffys not giving him pet names and having friendly competition and banter with him.

Yeah, not everyone likes having to cheer for lessers of two evils.

Yes but Luffy still helped him out and let him and his goons just run amuck in Marineford lol. Stop ignoring that part.
Also that's just your preference then. I personally don't mind having to root for Kidd beating Big Mom's ass.

I’m not saying everyone needs to hate kid? I’m saying calling kid hate unwarranted is just untrue cause dudes character is just not something that everyone would like and has done more than enough to warrant the hate.

Well don´t get me wrong, what I want is Aramaki to go around doing war crimes while Wizaru trolls pirates for shits and giggles, but Oda would definitely prefer to hype up the type of admiral who can party with the SH eos
