It was exactly like that in the manga (constantly cutting back to Kizaru while questioning where the food came from, Saturn wondering why Kizaru was so sluggish, etc)

The problem is oda made him a marine (probally because the story was initially way simpler) so he just looks like a walking meme because him doing in this instance make it worse despite him not doing anything else or different than the rest
