I don't think it's impossible the Strawhats lose on Elbaf currently

I get that it's late game, but it would be a little odd if even Kuri basically defeated Luffy and Imu doesn't
I feel like the structure of the rest of the arc is pretty straight forward tbh.

Loki will eventually lose to Imu -> Luffy takes over for him -> Wings beat HKs with a Haki powerup -> Luffy loses to Imu and Gunko saves him -> Gunko/SHs/giants stall Imu while Luffy and Loki recover -> Luffy and Loki team up against Imu and either force him to retreat or run his timer out

Well, if they lose, Imu goes onto enslave Elbaf, so yeah, that's not happening.
Out of curiosity, why not? Imu came here to force the Giants to become his slave soldiers for the coming war. Even if they DO get enslaved, that would ultimately get resolved when the WG loses. It would basically just amount to the Giants being a larger scale version of the Pacifista on Egghead (where they changed sides multiple times).

Not saying it WILL happen, but there's really no reason it couldn't. I would actually be genuinely surprised if the WG walks away from this arc with NO Giants under their control (even if he doesn't just outright win and take control of Elbaf). I figure it will probably be like Egghead, where several factions walked away with something (Devon and Bonney both having control over the Pacifista for example, not just the WG. But the WG also walked away with the means to power their Death Star and a Vegapunk who is fully on their side.).

If this arc ends with the Straw Hats fleeing in shame and Elbaf enslaved, then I, and likely a large chunk of fans, can not believe Luffy is going to become pirate king any time soon. In fact, he shouldn't even be allowed to declare it anymore.

Like after failing to save most of the Vegapunks and needing the Giants to get them out of the super Buster Call...only to abandon them to their fate?

No, it simply won't happen.
