Shiryu and M.Bison are both inspired by the same character from Teito Monogatari, the legendary onmyoji Yasunori Katou
He's basically the ultimate evil wizard in Japanese fiction. This is a big reason for why I think Shiryu will become more important later. Katou is a powerful magician and demon summoner. Will Shiryu end up being able to use the Abyss?
