Sakamoto Days has many things on OP.
-Despite the protagonist being titular,he has no overbearing presence in the story. The cast is well-rounded and the author makes the most of every character. In OP,only the protagonist gets to eat like a millionaire,while every other character lives on crumbs.
-SD has a good balance between flashbacks and the main storyline. The author always uses a flashback to flesh out a character when the story calls for it,and fits into the main storyline all that is necessary. In OP,there are many flashbacks that the fandom dreams of seeing,but will never happen. And many of the latest flashbacks in OP just forced the fandom to feel bad about useless characters.
-SD has only one group of villains,which is overarching in the story. And the author knows how to write them and treat them with great respect. In OP there are many groups of villains,but all of them are pathetic and ineffective and will die empty handed.
