No, Law dying and BB getting Immoral surgery make BB literal Immortal and bring so called tension and excitement since it truly.make BB extremely threatening without needing him to be physically stronger than Kaidou.

Law won't die, it has 0 impact for the story. He is D., has a good fanbase, Oda can't do that. He is not Ace also so Oda can't play with the sentiment, even if no one cares about Ace today lol.

There must be a reason why they're on an island and not fighting at sea. It seems someone from the island will intervene. And Law will lose his poneglyphs anyway. Law cannot die before giving immortality to someone.

On the other hand, killing anyone except Shanks to hype BB would be a bold move from Oda.

Not about killing. Imagine BB gets Law fruit and on top of it, he has immortal surgery. If immortal surgery is what it is implied, then it literally makes BB very powerful and a real threat who can't be killed, unlike the fake unkillable hype Kaidou had.

It's too obvious that Law stands no chance here but being straight-up killed doesnt really make sense either.
Law's death doesnt accomplish anything here, BB and his crew don't have any use for Law's fruit themselves.
Escaping is not an option either because his crew is there as well while Van Augur can teleport people after them.

Blackbeard's goal is to obtain the RP copies that Law has and that is exactly what is going to happen.
Whether it is through crushing Law and taking it off of him or due to Law striking a deal to let them go in exchange for PG copies...
Defeating Law and keeping him as a prisoner is also a possibility. Using him as Ace 2.0 is unlikely because there is no Whitebeard.
