Because Lafitte is a navigator and Doc Q isn't.

How can they be his superiors if hes captain of ship one.

Even if you argue that being captain of ship one doesnt make you the strongest....that would then mean being a captain of any ship would make you all equal. Meaning all the captains are equal in heiarchy....and non are higher than the other.

Theres no such thing as Captain of ship 2 and ship 5 > Captain of ship one.

Yes he did, he told them to follow his vivre card. Besides he's alsk the staff officer too.

He still refers to Teech as captain, as such if the vivre card is true and Lafitte acted as the chief of staff back before they each became titanic captains, he is likely still looking at Lafitte as his superior despite (as you said) the BB pirates no longer have any type of structure.

Neither in authority, in terms of authority Laffitte has that more than anyone in the crew as he's the chief of staff.

How is calling his Captain ...."captain" refusing the structure. Blackbeard is their Captain. It doesnt matter if he labels himself as Admiral, he's still the Captain of the BBPs.

Being Chief of Staff doesnt mean he was higher in heiarchy. It means he solved disputes and solved crew problems. Being the smartest that would be no superise.

But they had a clear structure of Marco > Ace > Jozu > Vista when they were introduced. And that went with their number heiarchy.

Oda didnt give the BBPs random positions, Shiryu isnt above Burgess....because he hasnt proved himself above him. ( even if he were stronger).
