Yeah Zoro is Luffys subordinate, but so was WB for Xebec. What happened to WB? Did he stay a no name? No, he was rogers second biggest rival. Mihawk is also a "underling" but is wss at the same time. It doesn't matter how you put it, zoro will surpass the old legends and his biggest rival Mihawk who himself is the only one with the title of the strongest right now.

Anyone who truly believes zoro will be nothing more than an underling is 100% salty and trolling.

All this time, Zoro has been getting fame only because he's part of the SH crew under Luffy. It's Luffy fame that gets transferred to the others. And now during the final saga where Luffy is gaining even more fame and is revered as a God, they think Zoro will somehow get any individual fame or respect. Delusion people all of them

Rayleigh's captain wasn't the Destined One Nika like Zoro's captain was he?

Garp called Ray a legend because of who he was associated to. Ray was the right hand of PK. He was known as that and nothing else. Not for his own power or status but only because he was on the PKs ship

It was never really explained why Rayleigh is so famous or in so many books, or even what *the dark king* means.

Zoro will have his own fame for WSS, but even Mihawk isn´t the most famous dude in the world, but people who are in the know, are in the know(think the Baratie arc, where Luffy and Usopp didn´t know him, but Zeff knew he was the real deal)

Zoro isn´t going to start his own crew for decades like Whitebeard,obviously. That´s just a dumb comparison. Though Zoro will beat some of the strongest characters in the manga if that´s your point.

Because Gaban has been sitting on his ass in Elbaf for 2 decades. He hasn't left the country for a long time. And Elbaf is not a country affiliated to WG so news from there doesn't reach outside world often.
For Ray, he made frequent appearance on sabaody gambling dens where some people could recognise his face that's why his news were able to reach marines and outside world in general
