That was alao the case for luffy, luffy said he has his own journey and family but helped him when he needed it. Hell even iva chan helped him when he realized its dragon’s son brother. Ray is ace’s uncle? What he did? He watched from tv how he’ll die

Ace was Luffy's sworn brother he grew up with. Ace recognized that. Recognizing Whitebeard as his father figure. Roger was dead for 20 years, Ray had no business with Ace.

Then why didn't she stop when finding out he wasn't? For Luffy's sake. Also, there is a difference between being actively affiliated with Dragon and stating there is no way Dragon will stand still while his son is being executed - meaning assuming that Dragon will participate too - and Rayleigh, who retired for 20 years, with his captain being dead for equally as much time.

Not sure what the purpose of this thread is. We know Ray didn't come simply because he didn't care. Ace being the son of his former captain that is dead for 20 years simply isn't enough.

Also, why do you think Roger entrusted Ace to Garp, a marine, rather than Rayleigh? Even in their lifetime, Roger didn't see Ray as a babysitter for his son.

Rayleigh is a scared old man. You have to see things from his perspective. He had to witness the true terrors of might when his captain faced top tiers like garp, rox, shiki, and Whitebeard. The dark twink was a mere commander who clung to life because he knew he would die if he tried to emulate his captain.

Why do you think the marines dont bother him at sabaody? He has a deal with them. He offered up shakky as protection. All the admirals get a turn so long as they spare Rayleighs life.

iirc in the ace novel it was implied that Rayleigh has never met Ace, so there's a chance that he didn't even know that ace was Roger's son

and shanks knew that ace was Roger's son but didn't do anything either

but if Garp himself didn't save ace, why would Rayleigh and shanks do
