There are only two swordsmen in recent relevant history -last 40 years- who have differentiated themselves from the rest.
Mihawk with a black blade which no other has and Zoro with demon god mode which no other has. Others are just mere mortals, one of the many...

I just got this thinking about mihawk and how this greatest swordsman in the world is also one of the freest man in the world.

he can choose he fights, he can choose who he wants to be an ally, choose what he bilieves, he was also a very wise man things that similar to luffy in some way.

are we not seeing this? Is the greatest swordsman for zoro is kinda like the pirate king? A freeman? Is this one of the reason why he follows luffy, dedicate his life, because how can he actually become free if he cant even protect his captain if he fears death?
roger a swordsman to

reminder that no one gave a fuck about loger and wb s territories after they die
meanwhile wano of ryuma? wg, pirates and celestial dragons were all scared even after he died
shows ryuma former wss and wsm shits on roger and wb

what are numbers gonna do when he produces island level tornados that can kill someone as durable as Kaido?
Mihawk literally was unable to do what he want with Luffy in Marineford because there were people in his way, if he had strong underlings he wouldn't need to care about it and could've head straight for Luffy.
Anyway the 'Pirate King' title and being the 'most free in the world' were always quite stupid because freedom is subjective and Roger himself had equals at the time and got some of his rep by fraud (sneaking under Linlin nose) the WSS is by far more legit title.

He literally just wanted to test Luffy and he did that and had a monolog about Luffys strength while he was playing with Vista.

That's all Mihawk wanted from Luffy. If Mihawk wanted Luffy dead Luffy woulda died. He solos WBs entire crew easily

You don't understand, just look at Luffy part of his character is that he incompetent idiot who has capable underling doing the things he can't or don't want to do himself for him, Mihawk don't have anyone so he need to do anything for himself which made him independet but if he don't want to something for some reason he can't just tell someone else to do it for him like Luffy can

True I guess
But once again I feel like being a loner is mihawks own choice.
I think he is a better leader than any Yonks. He is infinitely smarter than most of them

Again freedom is subjective so the "most free" is stupid concept to begin with, it just Oda narrative that 'Pirate King' way of life is "most free".
