General & Others PK and his top three were all blade users yet not a single black blade

Honestly at this point the only ting that really makes sense is that you have to have 100% affinity with your blade and or get accepted by it or some shit like that for it become black kinda like the Zanpakuto in bleach coz it clearly isn't a strength problem and I don't think it is Haki mastery either. Roger was at the peak of those two tings and still didn't awaken a black blade.
Currently only those related to Zoro's dream have it so maybe only those that completely devote themselves to the sword can awaken it. Either that or Oda's simply choosing who he wants to have a black blade and has decided that only those related with Zoro will awaken it. Anyways, it's one of the mysteries in the series I'm actually looking forward to finding out.

It's definitely going to be haki related why can't roger be surpassed most of the fandom are already comfortable with the idea shanks is roger of his era has comparable haki if not greater. This only becomes issue when it relates to Mihawk, swordsmanship is fighting that requires highest level of haki mastery to compete with df merchants who gain abilities with little effort so it makes perfect sense swordsman have to aim for the peak of haki mastery

And Aramaki forged it as a side quest. Mihawk is weaker than fruitless Aramaki since he made a black blade his life goal while Aramaki did it without giving a fuck

Don't know about others but I don't have Shanks on Roger's level. If anything I have him a full sub-tier below Roger.
On the topic though, I'm sure Haki will have something to do with it just think it's a bit of a stretch to say that Roger's haki mastery wasn't high enough hence why he couldn't do it. Roger's literally the benchmark for Haki prowess in the series.
Also black blades simply being a result of ultimate Haki mastery doesn't really make that much sense as a brawler who's polished their Haki to the maximum should be able to make a black blade by simply fulfilling that criteria which doesn't make much sense to me tbh.

Not to say that Haki prowess won't be a factor btw, I just don't think it'd be the only factor.

Not even his beloved Oden who was wanked through heaven was allowed to achieve this feat you think df merchant will pull it of :kobeha:
