Playing Dark Souls for the first time

#1
Never played this game before despite playing video games for quite some time now. Playing completely blind, it's quite good so far. I don't want to search anything up because I like how the bosses surprise me. The class I chose for this playthrough is Warrior, as it seems to be the most standard class from the looks of it.

I just beat the Taurus Demon last night so that's basically where I left off. This game reminds me a lot of Megaman in it's level design, with the combat being very similar to Ocarina of Time. After crossing below this giant bridge with a dragon I got poisoned and died but I plan to continue playing tonight. If anyone wishes to follow my journey I'll post updates in this thread.

Sidenote my thumb kinda burns from playing yesterday lmaooooo. The last time this happened was when I played Megaman X and my thumb went numb from spamming the d-pad for hours.

If I may take a moment to vent about Souls games......

So, if enemies can kill you in a few hits even if you're wearing heavy armor, then what's the goddamn point of wearing armor in the first place?
Havel Armor is legit good for a lot of bosses in DS1 tho... I'm not sure about literally any other game

Yup. Just got to the Gargoyle fight. Gonna beat it either tonight or tomorrow.
I hope you find a certain ultra greatsword(you can grab it at any time in the open world). If you do, you'll always be a strength chad and never go back.

There is a catch with armors in Souls Games as well ,it‘s called equip load :myman:
When you are underleveled and wear heavy armor you "fatroll" which means you dogde slower than usual ,quite a suprise when you die to it the first time :josad:

but yes as @Mr. Reloaded said drip is important :finally:

Depends on the game
Poise in DS1 is busted, certain bosses can be cheesed that way
In DS2 I always play naked but armor is pretty useful here if you just wanna minimize damage taken without sacrificing agility
For DS3 it can be pretty useful for certain elemental bosses, like fire resistant armor for the demon duo

But yeah in general naked or minimal armor is the ideal way to play
