Questions & Mysteries POLL (Why was Sanji's main feat in WCI baking a cake instead of a 1v1 matchup)

I'm guessing regarding fights, the one people are most salty about is sanji not 1v1 katakuri right??
Oda never intended to have sanji fight katakuri, and even if he did - he would have lost anyway. Dude wasn't strong enough.
people were so hard on Sanji vs Katakuri 1v1 because they believe sanji will get massive benefits if he did. Future sight, higher bounty and bragging rights to name a few.
I've always argued that Sanji wasn't strong enough to beat katakuri 1v1, and this was before Niji gave sanji the raid suit.
And thematically speaking- katakuri fighting Luffy was more important for katakuri than if it had been Sanji fighting Katakuri. katakuri met an opponent of similar skills and abilities and both having the unwavering desire to protect those they love. Luffy was also the very same person who dared to go against Big Mom, Katakuri's own mother who he himself greatly respected but also couldn't must up the the courage of going against her like Luffy did.
Apparently to some people here in this forum, fighting and beating opponents is considered the only way to develop a character, or to attain bragging points i should say.
The other thing too is that Oda chose for this arc to have Sanji' cake be Sanji highlight, meaning only his cake can save them from Big Mom's wrath (even only temporarily). Having Sanji then have to 1v1 someone else after all that hard effort to bake the cake, greatly diminishes its importance and value that Oda built up for so godawful long. If sanji's cake didn't knock out big mom ( even the little few seconds that it did before she woke up again), the sunny would have been destroyed and the straw hat crew would have been greatly hurt or killed too.
It's at least commendable imo on Oda's restraint to initiate fights ONLY after all other options to the straw hats problems and conflicts are exhausted-hence why main fights, 1v1 fights and boss fights always happen at the end of the arc. This is One Piece we're talking here, not Dragonball Z. And for Oda fights aren't just about character bragging rights and power growth, they are also for the story development and conflict resolution.

I didn’t complete it... I watched the anime actually, first season only, but stopped cause when you watch a show until the ending of a season, honestly it’s hard to get back and watch it again when 2nd season is out... so basically
Waiting for right chance to watch the rest... but when? Not sure, when I have mood for it
as for the ending, let’s all be honest... it seems most shows are getting unsatisfactory ending for fans... so give the show some slack lol... but also, remember that it’s hard to please everyone, there will always be people who like or hate the ending.. no matter how the auther tried...
@Zoro D Goat by the way, yesterday I literally watched a show “12 episodes” which was really great until the last freaking 5 min of last episode...

Waiting for right chance to watch the rest... but when? Not sure, when I have mood for it
as for the ending, let’s all be honest... it seems most shows are getting unsatisfactory ending for fans... so give the show some slack lol... but also, remember that it’s hard to please everyone, there will always be people who like or hate the ending.. no matter how the auther tried...

The crew was doing fine without him 
The cake was useless, he has strengthened big mom and now she is in wano making the fight against kaido more difficult

This argument of separating cook and fighting is a complete mess.
In the very first chapter Sanji appears, he ends it grabbing a complete rekt Fullbody and telling him something like "Remember this. Going against a sea cook is the same as committing suicide".
Dude first appearance puts him not only as a cook, but a fighter cook.
Making it look like these are two complete opposite natures of the character is BS.
He is both. Since he first appeared.
Try to actually grasp the situation they were in.
NOBODY there could defeat a rampaging Big Mom. NOBODY. And she would NOT STOP until she destroyed the ship and killed everyone for the freaking wedding cake.
Luffy BARELY could beat Katakuri, imagine trying to stop Big Mom. Sanji couldn't, Jinbei couldn't, etc. Not only that, there was an entire armada of Big Mom Pirates also chasing them. The Sun Pirates, the Vinsmokes and etc could only stall them so much.
And I repeat. Not a single soul there could stop Big Mom. She would only stop chasing them if they had the fucking cake.
Even if the head chef was concious, he still wouldnt be able to do shit, because the cake demanded ingredients from all over the world.
Sanji took the task of creating an even more amazing thing, using only the ingredients he could salvage in Tottoland. Pudding and Chiffon, being experts in specific parts of the cake managed to help him.
Him baking that freaking ass cake was the only thing that could keep all of them alive.

If Zoro was there, they would stall a little bit longer, and eventually get rekt as well.
It's not a matter "why didnt he fight bla bla bla", it's a matter that they only have a single way of getting out of there alive, and the only one able to achieve that is Sanji.
That's really just it. Memeing about it is fun and games, but actually not understanding it is beyond being oblivious to a story built towards kids.
Try to imagine a scenario where Luffy beats Katakuri and Sanji stops to fight and beat Snack or whoever.
What happens then?
Then the people on the ship would die. It's really not rocket science.
