Well the only thing I didn't like was that he gave real antidote.
It would've been so fucking better if after all that work it turned out to be just some water in a bottle.
But nah, Oda with his shitty writing actually made a villain give a real antidote.... in a war.

This is why I sometimes wish One Piece was seinen manga or at least a true shonen. Sometime it feels like I'm reading a series for 10 years old LoL

There will be two problems if that was the real antidote if you think about it.
-First, it's Oda, so Chopper would had his moment regardless the situation. That means Chopper would have developed the antidote anyway out of nowhere in 1 hour = greater asspull.
-Second, it only took some minutes for Zoro to take the antidote from Apoo -> Chopper would have seen that it was fake -> beast pirates would have switched sides earlier.

Like how he did is better than those other two possible developments.
