1. Teach was the central character of pre time skip plot:
- Killed Thatch, making Ace chasing him
- Defeated Ace, gave him to the navy, causing the marineford war

2. Teach is surrounded by mysteries:
- He never sleep
- He has a strange body according to Marco
- According to Zoro, Teach is not "he", but "they"
- Only character to eat two devil fruits and survives
- He has connection to Xebec
- Teach is the person that Shanks fears most

3. Teach has a plan:
- He has a plan since his childhood, according to him, he only became an WB pirate because he thought it would be an easier way to find the yami yami
- He perfectly fooled the navy and the world government
- He is an archaeologist, demonstrating that he has a lot of knowledge about important things, such as he recognizing the lunarian race in Amazon Lily
- He came from nothing, a simple pirate on WB crew. Then he became a warlord, and after that he became an yonko
- He currently has in his possession the notes of three road poneglyph, and he has Pudding who is able to read it
- His final goal is become the king of the world

You forgot to mention Luffy and Teach are the opposite sides. Luffy likes Teach dislikes, Teach likes Luffy dislikes.



One thing they have in common, he is a dreamer and never laugh at people's dreams, same as Luffy.

Luffy was associated with Sun while Teach associated with Moon, again exact opposite sides.

And Imu also considers both as a threat on Ancient Weapon level.



Its ironic, they helped each other unknowingly as well in Impel Down and also in Marineford. Teach took out 1000 men bazooka squad, which even Jinbe thanked him for it, and also took out the poison barricades that Magellan put so they could escape easier. The panic Luffy created in Impel Down also helped Teach.














Later, Luffy's group was able to pass the gates of Justice and arrive Marineford because Lafitte hypnotized the guards, and again the panic Luffy created in Marineford helped Teach as well.

Impressive how Teach is the character who drives the plot during the pre-time skip, and now in the final saga he’s the central figure (along with Imu).

definitely the main villain of the story, even imu being the most important/relevant villain
